Program Director, Theology Programs – Division of Graduate and Professional Studies

This position provides leadership and management oversight for the Graduate and Professional Studies programs in Theology and Pastoral Studies.

1. Oversee responsive curricula development/revision according to quality standards and the requirements of accrediting agencies and other internal/external entities;

2. Recruit and develop effective faculty competent to teach quality distance education courses for adult learners;

3. Develop annual enrollment projections by month, by program, as well as other revenue and departmental expense budgets, and monitor budget progress throughout the year, reporting on variances and adjusting activities for actual activity levels;

4. Develop, monitor and adjust annual recruitment/marketing activities and initiatives to ensure the attainment of enrollment goals and appropriate positioning in regards to the competitive market;

5. Monitor student retention, progress, and satisfaction in regards to program assessment; and

6. Evaluate the educational and financial effectiveness of programs and courses through the program intent to plan, review and discontinuance process, monitoring data for trends and making adjustments accordingly.

The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate and/or terminal degree in the field of study or one closely related to the program. Teaching and/or educational administrative experience required, as well as experience working with a Catholic diocese. Must be familiar with Ex Corde Ecclesiae and comfortable with The Guidelines Concerning The Academic Mandatum issued by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops. Necessary skills and abilities include: strong written and oral communications in the English language; the ability to work with different types of people; strong planning and analytical skills; and the ability to prioritize multiple demands.

The Program Director must be entrepreneurial and a self-starter in regards to area of programmatic responsibility while also working collaboratively as a GPS Management Team member.
